About Visiting Nurse Association (VNA):

In 1988, Visiting Nurse Association of the Florida Keys (VNA) became a reality, as a separate division of Hospice of the Florida Keys, Inc.. This full service Medicare Certified home health agency continues to be the only non-profit home health provider serving Monroe County, with the cost of care paid for by Medicare, insurance, private pay or sliding fees based on the ability to pay. The VNA is a perfect match for Hospice, offering services that round out a full spectrum of skilled care provided in a person's own home. Most VNA patients recover or stabilize after receiving services for such things as: heart disease, diabetes, cancer, wounds, infections, ostomies, strokes, fractures, accidents, new mom and baby care - for virtually any condition causing a person to be homebound and need professional care. Each patient's services are managed by a registered nurse, physical therapist or social worker; and, as with Hospice, all are approved by a person's own physician. Included in the VNA's offerings are private duty services, medical response system equipment, flu/pneumonia programs, support groups for caregivers and health education programs.
